This weekend the IFSC Bouldering World Cup travelled to the resort town of Vail, Colorado. It turned out to be a pretty special weekend for a certain Shauna Coxsey. Shauna had the opportunity to clinch the women’s title this weekend, one comp before the end of the season. She gave everyone a bit of a scare by qualifying last, but then really turned it on in the finals. She managed to top three boulders, which was enough to get her the silver medal and clinch the overall IFSC Bouldering World Cup title. American climber Megan Mascarenas secured the win in Vale by topping out all four boulders in only 5 tries. The fight for third place was between Mélissa Le Nevé and Anna Stöhr. Both of them managed to top out two problems each, but it was Anna Stöhr who eventually took the bronze, and her first podium this season, by a tiny margin. The men’s competition was still anyone’s game. Kokoro Fujii managed to take the win with two tops, more than any other competitor. His teammate Tomoa Narasaki continued his run of good form by flashing one problem and getting four bonus holds to take second. The bronze medal came down to bonus holds and attempts. In the end, it was Alexey Rubtsov who managed to squeeze into third place. Shauna Coxsey Takes Bouldering World Cup With One Round To Go | Climbing Daily Ep. 725
