EpicTV, adidas Outdoor And Five Ten Announce Winners Of Hometown Crusher Competition

Earlier this year, EpicTV teamed up with adidas Outdoor and Five Ten to profile four rising stars of climbing and mountain biking, visiting them in their hometowns to find out how growing up there shaped them into the people they are today.

Delaney Miller, Valentina Holl, Andrew Taylor and Loic Timmermans all welcomed us into their homes and their lives to gain a rare insight into how they have become the world-class athletes we know today.

As part of this series we wanted to broaden our search, beyond the core sports of climbing and mountainbiking and beyond the athletes that we already know. We wanted the wider outdoor community to get involved by sending us pictures that showed you doing what you love in the place that inspired and nurtured that passion. The response was overwhelming and the quality of images far higher than anything we could have expected. Choosing our winners was an incredibly difficult decision, but here they are.

Imogen Horrocks

Our first runner up is Imogen Horrocks whose incredible climbing photos from all over Europe showed us a climber who is passionate about every aspect of the sport and clearly loving every second on the rock (and plastic).

Anna Wells

Our second runner up was Anna Wells from Inverness whose photos of Winter climbing in her native Scotland were as breath-taking as they were inspiring.

Anna and Imogen will both be receiving a selection of climbing shoes and clothing courtesy of the guys at adidas Outdoor and Five Ten.

However, the overall winner of the competition is Thomas Richard who offered something completely different from any of the other entries. Based in the outdoor sporting capital of France, Millau, Thomas is a keen paraglider and whitewater kayaker.

We can't wait to get an insight into Thomas's life and passions as well as the incredible town of Millau when we go to film with him for the final episode of Hometown Crusher.

We'd like to thank everyone who took part in the competition and look forward to sharing the final Hometown Crusher film with you in 2016!
