Mom, law student, and kick-ass mountain guide Caroline George has spent most of her life defying conventions. Born in a small ski village in the Swiss Alps, she was introduced to climbing at a young age by her parents. Excelling in both sports and academics she studied to be a lawyer in college and she speaks four languages. But the mountains called more loudly than the office and she put her potential law career on the back burner to pursue climbing. She competed for three years in the Ice Climbing World Cup and has worked as a sponsored athlete since 2000. Some of her most impressive climbs include: El Capitan and the Half Dome in Yosemite Valley, the North Face of the Eiger, Grandes Jorasses and the Matterhorn, the Freney Pillar on Mont Blanc, first ascents rock climbing in Ethiopia, first ice and mixed climbing ascents in Iceland, Canada, Norway and Antarctica, and a recent all-female ascent of the Colton Macintyre on the north face of the Grandes Jorasses.
