Today we’re all about new climbing areas.
To start we’ve got some exclusive clips from an amazing video of an all star cast of boulderers developing a new area in southern Colorado. It’s called Huntsmen and it features a cast of strong locals, plus Jimmy Webb and Daniel Woods who turned up to try and finish off the hardest of the projects. My highlight is definitely Daniel having a real fight with one of the weirdest and hardest looking problems I’ve ever seen, provisionally called Te Cuelgas Guey.
To find out if he sent it, and to buy the full length film, go to www.vimeo.com/ondemand/huntsmen.
We managed to catch up with filmmaker Max Krimmer, who made Huntsmen to find out a bit more about the movie.
To finish the week, we’ve got a fantastic video sent in by one of our viewers, Lee Cujes in Australia. It’s a short film of Lee making the first ascent of a “Vixen”, an 8b, or 31 in Australian grading, at a Crag that he discovered last year and has since been developing with a group of like minded friends. So far it is only called “Crag X” but it gives you an idea of how good the climbing must be down under if spots like this are still being discovered. Thanks Lee for sending in the video and congratulations on the route.
