There is another real benefit in the pivot, its the orientation of the guide style "ring". with the DMM setup, especially on leaning walls, but more genaeral on any ocations where the belay plate touches the rock, the Pivot is parallel to the wall, not perpendicular as e.g. the BD guide. I found that to be helping a lot with easier rope management and no forces on the wire. my BD Guide always gets a bend wire after a short time of use.
