Why do we go to the river? What does it mean to be wild? How do our relationships with mountains and rivers change over time? 'Winter to Spring' explores these themes in hopes of inspiring more ecocentric riverine and mountain identities. The transformation of backcountry skiers and whitewater paddlers' changing identities through time in relation to their favorite natural mediums are examined, and a shift from egocentric to ecocentric is a common theme.
