This innovative new version of the Grivel Clepsydra carabiner has won the prestigious Compasso d'Oro design award. Grivel have altered their original design to make the new Clepsydra more compact and lightweight. Designed to be the perfect belay tool, it’s incredibly easy to clip a belay device to the carabiner. A small metal lump on the outside prevents the belay device from moving around, ensuring it is in the perfect position. The Clepsydra features the twin gate principal, the function of which is to make the carabiner secure and impossible to open once loaded with a belay device. It does not require a screw gate, making it less fiddly than other models of carabiner. The pulley version is perfect in crevasse rescue of hauling situations.
