Sylvio Mancusi is a man on a mission: to surf and kitesurf the best waves in the world. After scoring a run of great swell in Hawaii, he pulls up stakes and hops over to the Atlantic ocean to post up in the Cape Verde Islands. Originally colonized by the Portuguese as supply points for the trans-Atlantic slave trade, the islands are now their own country and a Mecca for kitesurfers. Perhaps the most fickle gem on the archipelago is Point Preta. Many have been skunked here, but Sylvio's determined to catch the spot firing. Spoiler alert: he isn't disappointed and you won't be either.
