If one day you had the crazy idea to grab a shovel and dig up your backyard in hopes of turning it into a dirt jumping course, how long would it take? In the case of Dustin Gilding, the answer is seven years.
As you can see in the video, seven years of work in his family's backyard has paid off. Starting with some early lines tailored to his big bike, Dustin shifted his focus to putting together a continuously expanding and evolving set of dirt jumps to progress his riding ability. His reputation as a trail builder grew with the course. 2013's Red Bull Joyride event was widely commended for having the best slopestyle course in the internationally-acclaimed event's 10-year history, and Dustin was one of the hard-working components that helped make the course a reality.
