Brett Tippie talks us through the features of the Five Ten Kestrel. The Kestrel, featuring a stiff, carbon-infused shank, is designed to transfer power to the pedals as efficiently as possible. For the first time, a proprietary dual-compound Stealth rubber outsole provides the best of both worlds; Stealth’s hardest compound, C4, is utilized where the pedal contacts the shoe resulting in increased power transfer with no hang-ups, while Mi6 on the heel and toe create optimal traction off the bike. The upper is a sleek, low-profile design with a breathable mesh upper and a synthetic, weather-resistant toe box. A snug BOA closure system permits a custom fit with the turn of a dial. Some believe that the Kestrel is solely intended for the love of riding a mountain bike, and others believe it was designed for enduro. Don’t be fooled- whatever your passion, the Kestrel is intended to get you out and pedaling.
